Capstone Projects’ Viva Held at Department of English

In the presence of Prof. Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor), the viva sessions of the capstone research projects were held at Department of English, Faculty of Humanities on July 31, 2017.

The research groups turned up before the examination committee to defend their studies that included significant topics. The first topic tackled conjunctive adjuncts and their distribution within sentence; the second, errors in translating adjective-noun collocations; and the third one, the TOEFL difficulties faced by second language learners. The committee comprised the research supervisors: Dr. Ahmed El-Bakri, Dr. Mohammed El-Fattah, and Dr. Ahmed El-Qadasi.

Addressing the researchers, the Chancellor confirmed his sense of pride over the excellent performance of the research groups. He noted to the strict adherence of the studies to the proper research methodology the fact that reflected the students’ scholarly competence. He, conclusively, appreciated the efforts made by the Dean of the Faculty and Head of Department leading to such quality outcomes.
